Our Story
Established in 1940 by the freedom fighter and visionary, Sri M.C. Sivananda Sarma, RV Educational Institutions (RVEI) has grown into one of India’s most respected educational networks. What began as a modest primary school with just 6 students has, over the course of 8 decades, evolved into a robust network of 28 institutions, serving over 33,000 students and supported by nearly 3,000 dedicated employees across 18 locations.
Guided by the mission of providing education with a strong sense of social commitment, the institution strives to make quality education accessible to all sections of society. We are committed to seamlessly integrating academic excellence with ethical values, critical thinking and a deep sense of social responsibility.
Inspired by Gandhian ideals and the foresight of its founder, the institution today spans the entire spectrum of education — from kindergarten to advanced centres of higher learning. The Visionary Behind RVEI - Sri M.C. Sivananda Sarma
In 1940, Sri M.C. Sivananda Sarma, a distinguished freedom fighter, educator and administrator, founded RVEI with a steadfast mission to make high-quality education accessible to all. His visionary leadership and unwavering dedication laid the foundation for what would grow into one of India’s most respected educational networks, known for academic excellence, innovation and lifelong learning.
Inspired by the principles of Mahatma Gandhi and other eminent leaders, he actively participated in the Indian Independence Movement. He firmly believed that education is the foundation of a progressive and empowered society, a conviction that drove his lifelong commitment to democratising education and nurturing future generations.
The journey commenced with the establishment of the RV Higher Primary School in Visweshwarapuram, Bengaluru, starting with just 6 students. This humble beginning laid a strong foundation for the extensive network of schools and colleges that exists today.
He regarded education as a catalyst for empowering individuals to realise their fullest potential and pursue their aspirations. As the Founder Secretary of Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST), the governing body of RVEI, he guided their growth and development with dedication until his passing in 1969.
His enduring legacy lives on through the continued commitment to social upliftment. Guided by his vision and values, the institutions remain dedicated to nurturing responsible and capable individuals who contribute meaningfully to society.
